A little about me…
I have been
teaching Art at Douglass Valley since 2004.
My childhood was spent as a military dependent, and my spouse was in the
military and retired in 2005. We have
called Colorado our home since 2002. I
have three grown daughters. I have been
teaching since 2000, and I have worked for DODDS as a kindergarten para
professional for four years. When I
started working for DODDS schools in the late 80’s, I decided to become a
certified teacher. I fell in love with
teaching and wanted to make a difference in the lives of children. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Business
Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with
Middle Grade endorsements in Business. I
also hold a Masters of Arts Degree through Colorado College. I have served on the
District 20 Visual Arts Committee, that represents all of D20 to make a
positive impact in curriculum. I pride
myself on service to our community.
I love working at
DVE because it involves the military child.
Something, I relate well too! Art
is my passion. It excites me to teach
about famous artists throughout history.
I enjoy teaching students about the different periods of art and
cultures. Art allows them to use their
creativity skills as they learn visually.
I teach Art with a curriculum based progression in each grade level. We read books which enhance their factual
knowledge about history and time periods.
