DVE Citizenship

Respect – Responsibility - Perseverance

At DVE, we believe that reinforcing positive behavior is more effective in shaping the behavior of children than punishing mistakes. Students have DVE Citizen cards which are punched when they demonstrate respect, responsibility, and perseverance. Once your child fills their punch-card, their efforts are appreciated with a small prize or fun activity.

Good citizen behavior and expectations are defined for these areas of the school: classroom, bathroom, bus, assembly, hallway, lunchroom, and playground.  At DVE we value and demonstrate respect, responsibility, and perseverance. Below is what we model, teach, and reinforce at Douglass Valley. Thank you for asking your child throughout the year how they are demonstrate good citizenship at school.
